Yes, you're quite right, I'm getting confused. The 'hoiking' adverts are of course Nationwide and not NatWest.

I'll see if I can delete it and then I'll shut up.

    Cheers.

It's too late to delete! So my apologies to Nationwide. But my advice still stands........

(My advice is to only believe what's in writing, read the smallprint and check and compare your rates regularly. Oh! And don't forget about looking for those hidden fees, charges and penalties BEFORE making any commitments.)

Anyway the reason I came on here is to say that Natwest are reducing the rate on their ISAs by 0.5% from Novemeber 3rd. Saw it in today's paper. Oh well... it was to be expected after a similar cut by the Bank of England last month.

    Re: Natwest Cash ISA 6.67% - 7.32%

I just can't believe the cheek of Natwest! They've been ramming adverts down our throats for years now, going on about how they're 'different' from the other banks. The latest one being about that they're interest rates are always good and that they don't do introductory rates 'JUST TO HOIK PEOPLE IN'.

What a load of BULLS**T. This ISA has got a 12 month 'bonus' interest rate that can be 'WITHDRAWN AT ANY TIME'.

It just goes to show that you can't trust anything that these companies tell you and that they are all quite happy lying to get business, even the ones that say that they're different.

My advice is to only believe what's in writing, read the smallprint and check and compare your rates regularly. Oh! And don't forget about looking for those hidden fees and charges BEFORE making any commitments.

Is it worth the hassle, depending on how many years ISA money you would be transferring.

Don't forget the interest lost when waiting for the transfer to go through. Also check if there are any exit fees from either provider if doing a 2 way switch.

    From geogenie

    Question!

Can you open a new isa by transferring into another provider and then back into natwest as a 'new customer?'

    Regards

    Re: Natwest Cash ISA 6.67% - 7.32%

Good offer but for new ISA customers only. Existing Nat West ISA customers like me must look elsewhere for a similar rate. Loyalty is rarely rewarded. I can't wait to move my money. I have £35,000 earning 5.25% AER in a Nat West ISA paying monthly interest. I think they might be paying for the bubbly at the next share holders meeting with my 2% bonus.

    Natwest Cash ISA 6.67% - 7.32%

this has got to be the best ISA around. Transfer in and get a 2% bonus for 12 months. Interest is paid monthly as well.
