    Jon, welcome to the forum.

NFU mutual are worth a try, they have a very good rating. Tesco which is currently administered by RBS Insurance(fortis from next year) also come recommended. My neighbour had a claim for her BMW and was very impressed with the service.

Have a look at the money.co.uk compare multi-car Insurance guide for details.

Also worth trying is a good local Insurance broker( not Swintons).

With multi-car you mostly have to phone companies with your requirements, as too complicated for online.

    Multicar Insurance

This is my first post, so 'hi'!

We have a multicar policy with Admiral and it is due for renewal in mid-September.

Due to the timing of our older, separate policies, with other insurers, this September is the first time they're being renewed together on this one policy.

Up to this point the other half's car (56 plate Audi A4 Avant SE, 22k - we do 10k a year) was £314 for the 12 months to this September. My car (55 BMW M5, 40k - I do 9k a year) was £293 for the six months, March to September this year.

Our new multicar, 12 month, quotation from Admiral (£350 excess on Audi, £450 on M5) is £1212...a 25% premium on the previous. I have had a discussion with Admiral, redued my annual mileage to 7k, and they have managed to drop the quotation to £989. The kind lady on the phone cannot explain the reason for this increase in the first place as it was based on over 35 different factors and could not offer any insight.

Could anyone recommend another multicar provider for us to try - I believe Direct Line do one, but would like to perform research based on recommendation.

    Cheers, Jon
