Sry but the answer is absolutely! The question on the proposal form relates to the driver, not the vehicle, and as such all accidents must be declared, whether fault or non-fault. Failure to do so is a 'non-disclosure' which could render your new policy invalid in the event of any future claim. The only downside is that there may be a bit of hassle if the accident you were involved in has not been settled. However, the good news is that many insurance companies will give you an 'Introductory No Claims Bonus' if the accident has been settled in your favour. The added incentive is that by providing a letter from your employer to verify that you were a named driver on their policy/had daily use of a company car for the last 'x' number of years, may mean you could have an intro bonus of up to 60% (the max anyone can earn through claim free driving)! Good luck but disclose it or you could be left totally without cover should you have a claim sometime down the line - insurance companies share information - including driver details.
