Re: mortgage for a 20yr old

Forget this idea given you are a student, working only part time, have only a 10% deposit and don't even intend residing at the property. Look at it this way if you were a lender would you lend to someone in this position.

If you have not got at least 25% deposit, then you have no chance!

    mortgage for a 20yr old

hi, i am looking to invest in a property for the first time, but was wondering if i would be able to get a mortgage.

i am currently a student with a part time job earning around £530 a month, doing 15.5 hrs a week, and living at home. the reason for this interest is due to the fact that the housing market is not as competative as it was a few years ago, and the prices have dropped.

i have a decent credit history, only been overdrawn a couple of times, dont know if that matters. if a can get a mortgage i will rent it out and pay towards the mortgage. the amount i would like to borrow would be around £80000.

any help would be very much appreciated
