Hi....I assume that your last application went through a broker and they would be the best ones to ask?? If you have to self cert in todays market it could be a nightmare, I won't touch self -cert now because of any come backs, the variable rate sounds a good measure. A broker is advisable on this one because of the details needed and the "alternatives" available.

Mortgage express are trying to shed mortgages unfortunately if I continue after the fixed rate period I will go onto self certified variable rate. Would it be wise for the next couple of years to do this rather than look around for another product. The problem is that they wont allow you to swop to another of their products but will allow you to look elsewhere now and give you chance to opt out without penalties. I am confused as being a company director also is this going to pose problems finding another mortgage. The oustanding mortgage is just under 75% of value of house.
