    Mortgage deposit help

I have had a mortgage agreed in principle and have found a home I wish to buy. The mortgage company and estate agent are asking to see proff of deposit. I need a another £6000 to put to my deposit of 10% which will come out of my wages this month and the month after, house wont be completing for at 6 weeks anyway so this isnt a problem.

Problem is, how do I prove to bank and estate agent I have this in order to progress the application! If I was to say my folks were giving me this, what would the bank/estate agent need to see?

    Re: Mortgage deposit help

    Hi

Have you explained to your solicitor that you need 2 months wages before you will have your 10% deposit?

If not I think they will tell you that you have jumped the gun!. Normally deposits are paid at the point you exchange contracts, not at completion.

I think you should phone your solicitor on Monday and explain the situation. The buying process I expect will be delayed until you have the deposit available.

You could temporarily borrow the money from your parents if they were willing/able. The Mortgage company/estate agent just need confirmation from your solicitor or bank that the money is immediately available.
