On moving used same advisor who set up my original mortgage with critical illness and sickness/accident cover, however, just found out that he's not covered me for sickness/accident on my new mortgage. I only found out as is usually the case with these things because i needed to make a claim due to an industrial injury. On speaking to him today he's under the assumption that he had but isn't in the office till Monday, so i rang to insurers from previous and was informed that they hadn't been approached to make any ammendments to my old policy by my advisor, which by the way had been cancelled.
The policy (from a different insurers) that i did receive on taking my new mortgage in the Cover Summary states Life and Critical Illness Cover and also Payment Cover for Sickness and so i assumed that i was covered for sickness/accident, but on phoning the insurers to claim was advised that the Payment Cover for Sickness is just a policy to cover my Life and Critical Illness plan.
Is it a case of i should of made sure everything was in place even though i employed the advisor to do this, or has he been negligent in some way and can be brought to account.
