mobileshop.com does not give cashback
mobileshop.com has told me for a long while that they got technical problem regarding cashback, but would like to give me argos gift card. I think they just lied. Can we do something about it? Thanks, Derek

Re: mobileshop.com does not give cashback
Are they offering an Argos gift card equal to what they owe you?

Re: mobileshop.com does not give cashback
actually the gift card has 110% of the cashback amount, but I still prefer cash.

Re: mobileshop.com does not give cashback
Derek, could you not sell the giftcard on ebay if all else fails? You may even make a couple of pounds!

Re: mobileshop.com does not give cashback
sounds that there is no way except accepting the gift card. the gift card is 110% of the cashback amount, i don't think it can sell at 105%, and then got to pay 5% or something like that for the transaction fee to ebay.

Re: mobileshop.com does not give cashback
Derek this is odd. mobileshop pops up regularly on MS' charts and MS has said if the contract is taken out through the site it will manage any issues, it is something you can sign up for on hotmail and presumably hotmail does some checks and doesn't it sell itself as the largest independent cashback retailer? Sadly you wouldn't get much for the vouchers in a sale, maybe a maximum 60% - 70% (just a guess based on some experience) so they are only of 110% value if you want/need something in Argos. You signed up for cashback and that is what you should get but in these troubled times for cashback one shouldn't be too choosy if it looks like take it or leave it. If you have time before the deadline to accept hold out hopefully for a reply from the 'expert' here or maybe e mail MS to reinforce this.

Re: mobileshop.com does not give cashback
Derek, I've sold many a voucher on ebay, what amount will the vouchers be for? Every voucher I've sold (various retailers), I've got only a couple of pounds less than face value. Unless you fancy shopping in argos, which IMHO is a hellish experience!

Re: mobileshop.com does not give cashback
Just a ps they are giving £110 for every £100 and obviously the attraction to them is they get a substantial discount on face value from Argos. Please don't think I am trying to offend either of you but you put up say £110 of vouchers on ebay and I am going from cash to vouchers. Now why would I be prepared to give you anything near the 'face value' bearing in mind the ebay risk factor. If you accept them try selling them locally or and I am not joking if you do it right at an Argos store if you can strike up a conversation with someone who won't take it the wrong way.

Re: mobileshop.com does not give cashback
ty4that, we must agree to disagree (although you clearly have more courage than me!)! I personally would be far more comfortable selling the vouchers on ebay where people can choose to buy them off their own back, rather then flogging them outside the shop! However, it is up to derek what he chooses to do... Let's wait and see :-) ! Good luck derek.

Re: mobileshop.com does not give cashback
Yup agree with your sentiment worried :-). Er... actually not sure I've got that much courage but I'd have to give it a go - probably end up down the cop shop about to be charged with attempting to flog fake vouchers when someone said - Hold up these are genuine, get the timewasters rubber hose... I think he's gonna trip over and over... lol

ty4that - I'm sure they wouldn't cart you off, after all there's bound to be children out chalking pavements or dropping a quaver to bring to 'justice'!

Re: mobileshop.com does not give cashback
Try ringing them up again and asking to speak to a manager, or the head of the cashback. I have dealt with mobileshop and normally they are pretty reliable in the cashback department. A couple of times they have offered me a portable dvd player etc in the past instead of the cashback but i rang them up and had a few words which seemed to have done the trick. Good luck

Re: mobileshop.com does not give cashback
I am having exactly the same problems except that when I try to exchange my cashback for an Argos voucher it says that my voucher has expired I have emailed mobile shop stating that unless I hear from them within 7 days I will take them to the small claims court. I mean it and let’s see what they say Be interested in other peoples experience

Re: mobileshop.com does not give cashback
The same problem being experienced here too. 1st claim received 15/12/06 paid eventually on 23/3/07 however 2nd received 15/02/07 and 3rd 21/4/07 and both still outstanding. I will be sending my 4th and final claim tomorrow closely followed by a letter threatening legal action if no payments are forthcoming!

Re: mobileshop.com does not give cashback
I had a problem also which has now thankfully been resolved! After an online conversation with customer services I was given the direct customer services number 0845 345 5000. I was told to ask to be put through to cashback claims department. My call was transferred and I spoke to a really helpful lady called Rachel. Within a few days money was in the bank! I suggest you all give them a call during office hours. Best wishes.
