Re: mobileshop.com does not give cashback

    Hi All,

Just to say i've had the same problems with Mobileshop.com. I phoned, emailed, phoned again, was given the usual techinical problems, lost all the claim details nonsense - I found a website with a draft letter. I put in my own details and 'tweeked' it a little, sent it recorded, threatening to take action unless they paid up within two weeks. And guess what - on the last day I received an email advisisng they would pay up within 3-10 days. I got all 6 claims paid into my account within three days - I got my £420 back. Guess who's smiling now. I wouldn't think twice about taking out another contract, I know which buttons to push now to get action.

I know they got the use of my money before they paid it back - but I got a crackingly cheap deal, and a sort of savings scheme too. I think I win

Re: mobileshop.com does not give cashback

They are lying. They do not have technical problems. Take them to the small claims court. Then they will pay your cashback. You do not have to take an Argos voucher.

Re: mobileshop.com does not give cashback

Mobileshop does NOT, and never has had technical problems. It is a lie that they are telling their customers. They just do not want to pay cashback. Take them to the small claims court. Then they will pay. The whole mobilephone cashback is a total scam. Complain to your network. They will sort out the dealers who are not playing ball.

Re: mobileshop.com does not give cashback

I will check it out and join. I've had to threaten mobileshop with court action each time to claim back all 4 of my installments. I've just realised that my last one is 78 days overdue so I've sent off my standard email which has generated success the last 3 times.

I sent the below to cashback AT mobileshop.com. I've blanked out dates and relevant info. Feel free to use this yourselves to claim.

Dear Sir / Madam,I am currently waiting for my cashback claim (received and acknowledged by yourselves on the ../../..) to be processed and the money I am due paid into my account. I should have originally received my cashback by the ... of ..., which is the end of the 60 day period specified by yourselves. As things stand my payment is currently ... days late and you are in breach of the terms of the contract. If I do not receive a satisfactory response within 14 days then I will immediately take my complaint to the telecommunications ombudsman . Further to this I will take my complaint direct to your Managing Director to inform him that I am initiating proceedings to reclaim my money, plus the interest for the days overdue, through the small claims court. For your information, my cashback details are as follows:

    Mobile Number: .........

    Cashback Number: .........

    Address:

    .......

    .......

I look forward to your reply.Yours faithfully.......

Re: mobileshop.com does not give cashback

Similarly, I've sent everything to Mobileshop on time, as has been acknowledged by them, and have received nothing, except excuses that is.
I sent a threatening letter to them last week and if I get no reply I will being to Consumer Direct, Trading Standards etc, and make them aware that this is a major widescale problem (I'm seeing people describe the same problem on several sites). There is great strength in numbers. In fact even if they pay up for me I might pursue this issue-I hate seeing people get away with such apparent dodgy practice, and ripping people off.
Anyone who's had identical problems, would you consider joining this Facebook group that I've found, regarding Mobileshop and their non payment of cashback? Just go to Facebook and search for 'mobileshop' and you'll find it.
Four months and counting for me and not a penny out of them so far.

Re: mobileshop.com does not give cashback

Thanks to everyone here, I emailed Mobileshop.com before Christmas saying that I kept encountering their 'technical difficulties' excuse and I was giving them 14 days' notice to pay me my cashback or I will go to the Small Claims Court. I got an acknoledgement the next day and a week later, I got my money. They only paid the 3 claims that were more than 60 days overdue, although I have a 4th claim that was less than 60 days past due. It looks like I have to keep on the case with them. I have to claim back money 6 times from them in total. The struggle goes on... I would encourage anybody else out there still suffering delays to get to them. Whether or not they are / may be in financial difficulties, the sooner you can get what is due and promised to you, the better.

Re: mobileshop.com does not give cashback

Update - 4th and last claim - Agin eventhough claim was overdue, no reply came from mobileshop. I contacted SCCTS to just keep them informing about the happenings and sent 10 days notice to mobileshop - cashback claim and to managing director (without mentioning any name). This worked and I received email on 17th Dec about payment and on 24th I got it into my bank. So I got all my cash back - with the help of comments/suggestions from you guys, SCCTS. Thanks again. Hope others also get all their cashback.

We should get together with the other customers that have been affected and protest outside the operators and ofcom. I have set up a thread and will try and organise it from there.

Re: mobileshop.com does not give cashback

Here's some info for all Googlers out there who are still having problems with this firm.

I managed to track down the Directors and sent some e-mails in the suspected format hoping one would hit a real mailbox.

    Success - the following is a working e-mail address for Robert Rawlinson, who was most helpful in assisting my valid claims;

    rr AT mocomgroup.com

He then forwards it to his Customer relationship Manager who is Lindsay Drever-Marshall with the following e-mail address,

    lindsay.drevermarshall AT mobileshop.co.uk

I am now paid up with Mobileshop.com and have received the full £360 (x2) cashback from them.

Re: mobileshop.com does not give cashback

For anyone thinking that this Company is going to go under, I would say that this seems unlikely.

Their turnover in their last accounts was £18 million with a net profit of £0.5 million, so they are well in a position to pay out the cashback.  Whether their profit would remain as high were they to pay on time remains to be seen.

Also, the information I have found suggests that the ACTUAL Directors (and not just Manager) are a Mr Robert Rawlinson, who is also the Director of several other telecoms Companies.  His Co-Director here is a Mr Grenville Robert Reeves who lists himself as Chairman. Mr Rawlinson is listed as CEO (very USA!).

Re: mobileshop.com does not give cashback

Update: I've received an email saying that Mobileshop are going to pay my next cashback. This was prompted entirely by my email to customer services threatening small claims court. I did not write to the MD this time. All I've had is the standard response. No reply to any of my questions. I think I'll wait till my last claim and then hassle them for an answer to my questions.

Keep slogging away, There's light at the end of the tunnel still!

Apologies if I've broken the rules, I wasn't aware that was the case. I've looked at the link again and as far as I can see it's not a user forum. It looks decidedly like a job vacancies site to me, although I could be wrong. It's certainly not obvious if it is.

If anyone wants to look it up yourself, go to the jobsinsearch.com site and search for Affiliate Marketing Manager (Ref: VAC-1766). I've posted the info from the ad below as someone may find it useful.

Re: mobileshop.com does not give cashback

    Dear all,

Thanks to all for your great help with the cashback process for mobileshop.com. I just got all my payment back today and would like to share the progress with you, and hopefully it would help you who haven't got the money back yet.

I first saw this post at the beginning in September (I got 3 pending payments at that time), then  I sent a letter to that DM Ian with small claims court threat, as well as a similar email to the customer service. I got two payment confirmation emails (each of them confirm one payment) from the cashback department 10 days later, and the money arrieved at my account within 2 days. Obviously they were still playing with us because there was still one payment left. I waited for another month and did the same thing again (letter to MD and email to customer service), eventually I got the last payment confirmation letter 4 days later, but this time it took 8 days to receive to money in my account.

So, it seems like they will take you about 12 days to get you money back. Probably because we all said that 'will wait for 14 days before seeking help from the small claims court.' Moreover, I am not sure whether was the MD who granted the payments or the customer service, since I sent letters to both of them; but one thing for sure in my case is that the cashback office never reply with any useful informaiton, but providing me with the gift vouchers (I also sent an email to the cashback AT mobileshop.com in the first time but I only got an email offering gift vouchers, as they always do to any kind of queries or complaints). However, the threating letter did work in my case; although it took me twice to get the three payments.

Anyway, hope all of you can get the money back! Although I do not see the sense why such a company should exist and keep destroying the consumers' confidence on cashback deals over the internet, I really hope all their customers get their money back before they go down!

Thank all of you again for your great help!

Re: mobileshop.com does not give cashback

    Info update for you all:

It seems the MD is now Darren Neylon.

I found an advert for the post of Affiliate Marketing Manager (listed 06/08/07) in which Neylon is listed as the main contact with the number 01427 892972

Moderator edit-- Links to alterrnative user forums removed in line with MS terms of service, please read the rules.

If anyone is keen then they could perhaps give Mr Neylon a call to ask him exactly why his company is treating its customers with such utter contempt. If you do then please post your report here!

The address given in that ad is:The Human Resources Department, Mobileshop.com Ltd, Millennium House, Fox Covert Lane, Misterton, DN10 4ER. I haven't checked the address given earlier in this thread but I believe it's the same. I assume that if you put Mr Neylon's name instead if the HR dept then your letter will reach his secratery.

I suspect that his email address will follow the standard format of firstname.lastname AT company, so therefore: darren.neylon AT mobileshop.com

Good luck everyone. I'm just trying to claim my 2nd of 4 by threatening legal action (again) and have just submitted my 3rd of 4. *sigh* almost half way.

Re: mobileshop.com does not give cashback

Thank you for this information people, its really helpful to see what other people have done in my situation. I will send MD and Manager of Cashback department letter giving 14days notice to pay my cashback, via recorded delivery. I will also email the cashback department to see if this speeds things up. I have also been intouch with my solicitor and Staffs trading standards, so hopefully i will not have to pursue mobileshop.com through the small claims court.

i will post my findings on here in a few weeks time. Hopefully i will be £360 better off!!

    Cheers Edd.
