    Re: Mobile phones

    I had a bad experience with phones4u as well. i went to the store in Reading last month and purchased a LG phone. I was in the store for almost 4 hours, as i was assisted by atleast three different salespersons, two of them trainees, who were being trained at my expense. They had nothing to advice me, i was left on my own for long intervals of time. I told the salesperson that i wanted to retain my old number, but she drew up the contract and i was given a new number. She told me that i could call vodafone and give them my pac code and get the number changed to the old number. i was so frustrated, signed the contract and left.

    After 2 days, when my phone was activated, i called vodafone customer service who told me that the number cannot be changed after signing the contract. I was asked to go back to the store, cancel and get a new contract with my preferred number. When i called phones4u, they were shocked that the number could not be changed, asked me to come to the store to sort it out, i checked if i could go the same day and was told to come over. I took an hour from work, went to the store and was told that the salesgirl who attended to me earlier was not available and she had to be there to change the contract (an obvious lie, they refused to help me). I went agin the next day, when a completely new salesperson changed the contract, gave me a new contract with my preferred number.

    I thought everything was ok until i received my phone bill. I was charged for both the numbers for two months. When i called vodafone again, they told me that the old number was active. Again, i called the store and they told me to come over to sort it out (!). When i went, it was the same story. The store manager was not available, i was asked to come the next day, they insisted that the old contract would have been cancelled without checking their records. they asked for proof-my cancelled contract, bank statement that the money had been debited from my account.

    I was so angry that i called their headoffice, who atleast checked and confirmed that the old line was still active, but could not do anyhting about it as it had to be cancelled by the store. Now i have to go back to the store. It is all so frustrating and one thing i have decided is that i will not buy from phones4u again. This is my last transaction with them. they seem to like customers going to and fro, without any results. I had to take off from week twice, once more on Wenesday and had to spend money on travelling to the store, calling a premium number and being put on hold for five minutes, when the people at the store could have done it and sorted out things, if they knew anything about customer satisfaction!!

    Re: Mobile phones

    my bad experience with phones 4 u;
    DISGRACEFUL TREATMENT BY PHONES 4 U. DONT CHOOSE PHONES 4U.

    my phone broke down, I could not recieve and make calls. my phone is still under 12 months warranty /pay monthly contract. I went to phones4u high wycombe branch. extremely unhelpfull staff. then they told me they can not help me. Eventually after an hour of converastion they agreed to take my phone to be sent to their reapir centre. guess what!!! they told me it might take upto 3 weeks. then I phoned the phones 4u repair centre: 08701 611 005 . I discovered that they recorded my address wrongly.. so I had to wait further untill my address was corrected. then I spoke to Ms NIcola from the same repair centre. She was as cold as ICE on the phone. And She refused to help me. and She said that she will hold the phone unless I pay 17 pounds.. for what??? Black mail!! she said she will not return my phone unless repair payment is made. How come when a phone is still under warranty?? phones 4u reapir centre also claim that it is a 'cosmetic damage' when it actually says on the repair form that 'can't receive and make calls and spring inside is loose'
    although it is phones4u responsibility they aske me to contact sony ericson.. false information..
    phones4u refused to help me.. watch out. Poor customer services.. and be carefull NOT TO GET PHONES Insurance with phones 4 u. You have to pay 50 pounds excess fee for each repair.. this was not explained to me at the store. So I had to pay 90 pounds insurance for nothing...

    my recommendation..: dont choose phones4u.. better to deal with the man in the bazaar you will be better off or.
    Not only I am left without phone.. but I hate put up with their poor customer services,,
    the choice is yours.. you will be better off buying a phone in e bay or in the moon or mars..
    DECISION IS YOURS BUT I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND PHONES 4U. YOU WILL BE STUCK WITH THEM 4EVER!!!

    Mobile phones

    I recently upgraded my contract phone with Phones 4 U. Following advice I chose a Voda phone network. 2 month down the line I recieved a letter from O2 my previous network charging me over £300.00 for cancellation fees. I have been to Pnones 4 U on 2 separate occasions and have been informed on my visit that the situation has been sorted. However I am still recieving bills from O2 and the last letter told me a debt company has been instructed to take me to court. Phones 4 U where aware I had an 18 month contract with O2 as I bought my O2 phone with them, but the lady on the day said that would not be a problem. I can not afford to pay this bill and do not feel I am responsible for breaking my contract with O2 as I was following advice from the sales lady at Phones 4 U. How do I stand legally, and what will happen if the bill is not paid. Debbie
