    Mobile Phone Fraud?

I need a bit of advice from someone about a mobile phone con.

My mum currently has really bad credit and has been contacted by these 3rd party cold callers that offer mobile contracts. Shes recieved 2 phone in recent months because she was lead to believe that they were with '3' network only to find they were actually with Orange. As she currently has a defaulted account with orange, and is on a repayment plan, they won't alllow her another contract, which is fair enough.

So on Monday, another company rang her up, told her that she'd been accepted for a contract on 3 and could they have a few details from her i.e. bank account etc. My mother (the crazy loon) gave them her details and that was that. But they rang back later that day to say that she'd actually been declined, but was there anyone else at the address that would like a new contract. my mum just said 'No, only my daughter Donna lives here and she's just taken out a new contract'.

We thought that was the end of it ubtil they rang her yesterday, and told her that they had sent out a new mobile on 3 network, in MY NAME but would be debited from her bank account!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never authorised it!!! There is no way on earth i would take out another contract on any network for anyone!

     Surely this is fraud?!?

    What should i do?

    Re: Mobile Phone Fraud?

You should have 14 days to cancel - so do so, and send the cancellation registered post.

In the event they try to claim otherwise then take it to trading standards / CAB.

P.S. I feel obliged to point out, I am speaking from experience and my own personal views above - I am not an advisor, nor an expert.

Me thinks somebody is on commission at 3 network.
