The only other thing I could think of doing is having someone as your garentor (sp?) so its in their name but the DD is out of your account.

Or why not look into pay as you go? I know Vodaphone are doing some good deals on theirs at the moment.

if u were to take out a contract thru CPW, and it was to decline, u cud still have it, but it just means u have to take their insurance out, and they guarantee orange the payments, but to be honest with u, u'll always get a better deal direct thru orange, u can get tariffs cheaper direct thru them. if u were to go thru CPW and there was a problem with the tariff u were placed on, any 'free' gift, cash back or faulty handsets etc u wud b referred back to CPW and not to orange. Just put in ur disconnection request through virgin, then ring orange to see if u pass, and if u dont, u can always cancel ur disconnection request.. x

I agree with the above, lenders can also tell if you try as they most probably have your file on watch for changes

the whole point of an IVA is that you cannot afford to pay your current credit, you would not be allowed under your IVA rules to open up a new credit agreement(a phone contract)

if you did and your iva found out about it, it would be deemed null and void and your other creditors can then chase you up for their money

I'd recommend you didnt, just stick with virgin albeit more expensive, as you signed the IVA you have no other choice

Mobile Phone Contracts for those with an IVA

I have just entered into an IVA months ago. My mobile phone with Virgin is due to expire in July 2009 and I am lookin to move as seen a nice phone deal with Orange thru Carphone Warehouse, will the IVA affect my ability to get a contract? Dont want to cancel my virgin then get declined by Orange as then will have no phone
