    Re: MIH Communications

    hey there,

went to MIH as i haven't received last 2 months cash back yet and was shocked to be told that the 3rd party co has gone bust and so, i have only 3 options -

    a) get £50 cash back instead of the £70 promised starting this month

    b) downgrade price plan to cheapest option (£15 x2 contracts in my case) and get full £30 refund

    c) get no money at all whatsoever!

apparently they've sent letters to all customers explaining this. yeah right. so i asked for a copy and was basically given a threatening letter that says MIH are not liable under the terms and conditions to offer any cash back at all to customers but as a gesture of goodwill they are willing to offer the customers the above options. now, what i would like to know is, where's this terms and conditions? i never saw one. they never mentioned it. i dont have a copy. they dont seem to have a copy ( yeah, i asked for a copy of this particular terms and conditions) and more importantly, i never signed one. all i signed was the agreement saying the 2 contracts are with t-mobile for 12 months. no where did i see a word mentioning MIH and its special "lets screw the mugs" terms and conditions. i was furious. so was my wife! she was absolutely livid! she was the one trying to calm me down before i left home and she was the one fuming when we heard what the wankers have planned for their dear customers! spoke to max (at last! iv been trying to meet him since my first bad experience with mubeena for whom customer service means belittling customers and been extremely rude and spitting them in their faces!) who , though very polite (i sort of know him), just basically said he can liquidate one of his 6 companies and not pay the customers anything at all! the cheek of it!! this is their attitude. take it or leave it. when i asked him about the 3rd party co he said they are called cellphones uk ltd. googled it, cant find it! surprise surprise!! i'm going to citizens advice bureau and maybe contact ofcom et al now cos i dont really know where i stand. even if i downgrade my price plan, im still loosing out. BEWARE - IF U R IN LEICESTER, DONT BUY FROM MIH. COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME. TOTAL BUNCH OF TOSSERS. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEM, EVER!!!! JUST PAY A BIT MORE AND GO TO CARPHONEWAREHOUSE!

    Re: MIH Communications

If they got you then you should just contact trading standards. Call them up they would advise you the best cause of action. They have told me to write a letter to them demanding to be paid the full amount cash back. And give them 14 days to reply. IF they refuse to pay or dont reply within the time given then trading standards will take the issue to them and help to resolve it. The best possision to stand on is that in the contract there was no clear mention of a third party funding the cash back. Also what was said during your contract verbaly is binding to both you and MIH. So if more and more people complain to trading stardards they will help to sort out the mess. The worst thing you can do is be quiet. They could have told you alot earlier that the so called third pary is out of business earlier so you could have cacelled your contract. But they chose to wait. They also told me that they had sent a txt to every one to cacell their contract before the 31st beacuse the third party has cancelled. I did not recieve a txt. DID you? Also they say that the manger of the company is called Alex. That is a lie the woman working there said that she is the manager. Thats why she can say what she likes and get away with itAlso if you ask her what is the name of the third pary she told me at first thats its confidentail. Then she said that il give it you next week because she says she doesnt have it. Thats just a big fat lie. If a third party has ceesed trading then they are able to give the name of the third party. Remenber she can only say what she likes if you sre alone. But if you take people with you as evidence they will have a harder time dening anything.

Please! if everyone starts complaing to trading standards then we may be able to overcome this situation.                                                         Seear.

If anyone needs to know more then please sign up ang ask questions because the best way to solve this situation is to ask questions.

    Re: MIH Communications

thanx for the advice seear....i most certainly am gonna contact trading standards. just wanna make sure i get a copy of their special terms and conditions tomorrow so i can scrutinise it a bit more. for the last 6 1/2 hours, iv been reading all related cashback scheme threads on here just so i have a fair idea what to expect. it would be really helpful if someone can point me a to a link of a complaint letter so i can start the process immediately. MIH didnt say anything about a txt been sent to inform customers. i was there last month but they didnt say anything about the 3rd party co. as far as i know, its max running the show. mubeena is the evil sis. when i went to the shop after work, the old woman there with the very dodgy english was trying to fob off these 2 customers. when they saw me arguing with max and the woman, they joined in. i was just wondering hw many customers must've just accepted what they said at face value and walked off without so much as a glare. i'm gonna fight this to the end. DOWN WITH MIH!!

    Re: MIH Communications

juan kerr i dont think they really gona say the truth who the real manager is . If you do call tradind standards they should tell you what to write in the letter. Remember to keep a copy of the letter and to do a recorded delivery so you have evidence to say that you have sent them a letter.  The more you bug them the more they will become annoyed and they will slip. Also rining orange up or who ever your network provider are and complaing to them and asking them how many people have put a complain against MIH.What did max say to you when they started to help you argue with max?

    Re: MIH Communications

    Hi

My family have 3 contracts with MIH and have not received the cash back for any of them. I went to the citizens advice bureau today and they took my details. He said they were well aware and trading officers were going down to the store in the next couple of days and they would let me know what was happening. He also said to write a letter saying the contract, both verbal and written have been breached and also that there was misrepresentation as i was not told a third party would be giving the cash back. I have spoken to bilal from the narborough road store who said we would be receiving some of the cash back but not the full amonut. Apparently Max is out of Leicester all week.

    Re: MIH Communications

    Hey,

We've got around about 4 contracts with Max.

He says he will pay us £50 out of the £80, or nothing.

I can't afford that for 4 contracts, it's just too much.

I was thinking about cancelling with orange, but the contract says:

"I understand that if during the promition period I change my tarrif and my agreement with the service provider is terminated for what ever reason, and that I must make and recieve calls from the paired handset / simcard provided with the contract, failing to do this, MIH communications reserve the right to charge me for the sum of upto £600."

That's upto £2400 if I cancel all my phones! That's alot of money!

He told me the 3rd party has gone broke also. In the contract, it doesn't mention anything about going bust etc. So if he refuses to give me my full cash back, he's breached it and I'm free to cancel the contracts one by one right?

I'll be ringing Ofcom, Trading standards today, and reporting it to watchdog later.

Edit: How do I contact trading standards? Website isn't clear.

    Re: MIH Communications

    Hi

I have contacted Ofcom but they weren't much help. All they said was to write a letter. I was thinking of  maybe putting some ads out and getting everyone together to do something. they have a lot of customers and we could ruin their reputation. the other company (mobile connections) have done this to people in birmingham as well

    Re: MIH Communications

    Hey,

Is reputation means nothing anymore. He knows it's gone.

Also, he doesn't accept new customers any more either.

I've got a personal plan of action in mind. I'm prepared to go in there and argue until he decides to get violent.

If he does get violent, I will use karate in self defence, and restrain him until the police come. I'll most likely press all possible charges, and get max out the way (in my opion the one behind all this) and concentrate on his sister.

She will be useless, and won't know how to go around stuff I.E if a customer cancels etc, without her big bro.

I have a martial arts legal licence, which does say I can use karate in self defence, or in an offensive manor if I feel unsafe, or that I feel as if my family or friends are in danger.

A few of my friends also have these licences, but in other martial arts, and I will be sure to  bring them for safety.

I will do that as a last resort. It's not the way I am, but he really has annoyed me. Even still, I will use that as a last resort.

I'll phone ofcom and trading standards.

I'm also getting advice from a solicitor. I'll tell you what he thinks in the reply so you can do the same, and hopfully get money back.
