Migration away from Tiscali LLU to O2

    Dear Experts,

Please bear with me with my story - My friend had been with Tiscali (Telephone and Broadband) for a year and I have just moved in to share the flat. The service is OK, but getting a 2M line while living next to the exchange is really not ideal (my friend tried to upgrade to 8M and Tiscali failed to upgrade the line, with broadband outage for 4 weeks.)

Reading from various post from other forum, it is advised to inform BT and migrate the line back to BT first without telling Tiscali, to avoid BT reconnection fee and longer down time. So I went ahead and used my Name and my friend's tiscali telephone number to migrate back to BT. Everything is going fine - The line is migrated back to BT after two weeks, and now I can dial 150 to reach BT.

The strange thing is that, the line is migrated last Saturday - but the internet is still on (my router shows that the ADSL line has been connected for 27 days). I am here typing with a Tiscali ADSL on a BT line, wondering why the internet is not down?? (I have powered off my router and disconnected from the phone socket for half a minute.)

    So, my question is,

    1. How do I check if our line is available for new ADSL order?

    2. The post http://www.moneysupermarket.com/COMMUNITY/forums/t/seamless-migration-from-llu-14650.aspx mentioned about "line provision" which should take 2-3 weeks after migrating back to BT. Do we need to do this and is it O2 who I need to ask, to perform this line provisioning?

    3. Do you think at any point we need to contact Tiscali informing that we wish to migrate the line and ADSL?

    4. (In All), what should we do next?

    Thanks a million!
