    Hi SJ,

Thanks for your response - what debt management company did you use?

    Re: MBNA Credit Card

    Hi,

i had the same problem with MBNA.

I talked to a debt management company who were a godsend. they were friendly, sympathetic and told me that i was not the only one in the same boat.

told me that i had a few options.

    1. try and come to an arrangement with the company (like you i tried to do it but failed)

    2. get a debt management company to sort it out for you.

i used the company to take on mbna and not only did i get the interest frozen on the account i also ended up paying less money to them because of this. result both ways

    MBNA Credit Card

    Hi,

Like everyone here - am hoping someone can help!

My husband has a credit card with MBNA. He's always kept up with repayments, but over the summer missed a couple. We thought the account had been brought back within the limit, however we recently got a statement that showed due to mounting interest, it was actually £1000 over the limit.

MBNA are now calling daily, asking for the amount to be reduced, but we're not in a position to be able to pay it all off in one go, so the interest & charges keep racking up, so anything we do pay off doesn't really make a dent. My husband has asked them if it's possible to freeze the account, to give him a chance to bring it back up to date, however they have said that they won't do anything to help whilst the account is over the limit.

Are they not required to find a way of helping him out of this situation under the FSA's TCF guidelines? Any suggestions would be gratefully received!

    Thanks!
