You might want to look at a web site from a guy called Tony, I've got it in favourites as (Fuel saving - a professional engineer's view)

Jeff - do us a favour on future posts, and dont use all capitals - not only is it difficult to read, but it is also the text equivalent of shouting, and except for bf and cmk we aint all old & deaf yet. <G>

    MANY THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENTS.

I HAVE ALSO READ ALL . GET MORE TO GALLON THEN THE MANUFACTORS STATE TO HOW I DRIVE,

TRIED REPLACEMENT LEAD WHICH WORKED AS THEY WERE DOING AWAY WITH LEADED PETROL.

BUT ALWAYS LOOKING FOR BETTER WAYS .

Better than I. My PB is 57.8 on a rather laborious trip from Liverpool to Loughborough.

Re: MAGNETS FOR BETTER FUEL USAGE.

The best I managed was 61.4mpg on a 12mile jtrip, but that was more down to the fact that I got stuck behind a taxi obviously not on his way to a fare.

Agreed, I find myself challenging myself to see how good I can get my MPG. Saves me money but hasn't helped my punctuality......!

Re: MAGNETS FOR BETTER FUEL USAGE.

The single biggest influence on my MPG is the on-board computer, which is set to permanently display the mpg for that trip - nothing focuses the mind more than when you put your foot down to burn away from a junction, than seeing the mpg drop like a stone.

Re: MAGNETS FOR BETTER FUEL USAGE.

I have read many articles that have tested the theory in practice and found no significant differences made by these magnetic fuel devices, despite expected claims made by people who sell them and make the claims.

You could better cut fuel usage and emissions by using proven and tested methods such as a smooth driving style without harsh acceleration or braking, keeping the car properly serviced, running with correctly inflated tyre pressures, having the steering and wheel alignment checked regularly, even down to polishing the car to reduce airflow drag, if it does not work at least it keeps your car looking better.

    MAGNETS FOR BETTER FUEL USAGE.

HAS ANYONE TRIED THE MAGNETS ON THEIR VEHCILE FUEL LINES, IF SO DO THEY WORK.

EITHER WITH EMMISIONS OR FUEL USAGE.
