If you've managed to get a mortgage, you should be able to have a chat with whoever you bank with about a car loan. I would guess that they'll lend something even if it's not £9k. If they wont, there are plenty of good cars atound for £2k.

Looking for car loan past credit issues

Hi forum, looking to buy a used car. I have had a trust deed in the past (5 years ago), which still shows on my equifax credit report. I have managed to build up a credit report again and in fact equifax scores me as having a good credit score. I recently bought a new house with my wife with a joint mortgage. I do not want to damage my credit score as it has took me a while to get it back to a good level. Is there any recommended loan providers that would suit my circumstances without damaging my credit file? The car is valued at £11000 and I have £2000 as a deposit.
