We are currently trying to long term hire a car, as our 5 year old car has gone completly and my other half is a VAT Reg Sole trader so we have the Tax relief and 50% VAT Claim. Any way due to my other halfs divorce and going through a IVA (One off bulk payment so has been complete now for 8 months) he seems to have marks on his credit file which we are trying to get the creditors to sort.

We have had the paperwork through from the Car Hire Company and it has a Credit Check Form for him to sign, Dont know if I am being daft here but when I have hired a car (short term) they have never completed a Credit Check form. it is defantly long term car hire and not Leasing or Contract hire

Please can anyone shed any light on it, as if they are going to do credit checks it will be declined due to the above
