    SHOCKING BEHAVIOUR OF Phones4U

    Why am I not shocked?

Are you saying you got a refund number from customer care but the store manager refused to issue the refund? In which case complain again. I realise this is upsetting but next time try to keep your cool.

Looking at the Phones 4U website the phone is only offered as a contract phone on Orange so its perhaps not surprising that you found the phone locked to Orange. If you want an unlocked phone look at Play.com.

    Re: Locked phone

on a seperate note, perhaps it's time you wrote (recorded delivery) to the chief executive of phones 4 u. You'll be able to get his office address off their website. He's bound to take more notice than a call centre.

    Re: Locked phone

Every single phone ever made (with the notable exception of the iphone) comes with an unlock code. if you google it then you're most likely to find a way of unlocking it, although you were undoubtedly mis-sold.

One word of warning, if you do go down this route, don't pay any websites for the method, as they have exactly the same way of doing it as other websites give you for free.

    Locked phone mis-sold

SHOCKING BEHAVIOUR OF Phones4U at thistles shopping center in Stirling

last Sunday I went to Phones4U at thistles shopping center in Stirling to inquire about a HTC hero Sim-free handset. I knew exactly what I was looking for and asked the sales assistant if she had the phone i am looking for. She said she had the exact phone that i wanted. I said " are you shore its unlocked and not connected to any network " She said off-course its definitely unlocked". I bought a phone worth £ 342.50 went home. Excitedly I tried the phone and it was locked to Orange Network. I phone the shop and told the sales assistant that it wasn't what she said it was. She said " that she had told me that it was locked", i asked to speak to the manager, after about 5 minutes he came on the phone. I explained the whole story to him expecting him to understand my concern but shockingly he then lied that he had has witnessed the whole conversation between us ( he was no way around) and she had told me that it was locked. He said that "there is no point come in back for a refund as you will be wasting your time". Obviously shocked with the whole situation I immediately called customer care and explained my grievance. They said they had complained about that shop and they shouldn't have sold me the handset anyway as it was supposed to be a handset available only on contract and gave me a reference number to have the phone refunded.

Next day I go into the shop with my wife who is disable in a wheel Chair and her friend who happened to be Black. As soon as we arrived at the shop the manager was aggressive and said you are lucky to get your money back. I said i was shocked at the way i was treated. My wife said she never seen behavior like this before and tried to explain to the manger the error of his attitude. The manager said " I am not going to refund the phone and i am calling security. Security came and he told my wife that i am going to take you out of the shop. He attempted to wheel out my wife out of the shop saying she was a threat! Her friend said i will take her and attempted to speak to the security guy who pretended that he couldn't understand a word she is saying as she has an african accent. It was shocking to be treated firstly as a Liar and to watch my wife being manhandled out of the shop. She is a tiny sweet women who wouldn't scare a mouse.

I am contacting the national and Regional press. I will definitely not give up on my pursuit for justice. I hope there is somebody in this company with integrity and that something is done Immediately about this situation.
