LLU Tag on Telephone line by sky broad band

On 15th of January i have ordered for sky tV, Sky broad band & sky talk on line. later came to know that , as i was staying in flat i need to call spectrum uk (Sky business partner) and order sky TV. I called up spectrum uk, they told me to cancel my online order then with with them.i cancelled sky tv, sky bradbad and sky talk before installation , then i called up again spectrum uk to book sky tv. and i got sky TV within a week time. later i called sky boradband to order for sky broadband, someone said that it will take minimum one month, because first time i have booked and cancelled imidiately. so , i called after a month , 21st of february, at that time some one told me that there is LLU tag on my telephone line, we will sort it out and we will call you after 5 working days.
No one called after 5 working days, then i called up again sky and answer from other customer service man is, there is LLU tag and you need to call B.T and ask them to take tag.
I called B.t , at that time B.t said that tag is from sky braodband, they have to order BT to remove it. again i called up sky , at that time someone said that we will contact you after 5 working days, but no one turned back. after several call, from one of customer service man i got a telephone number of sky provisional dept to remove tag, i called them on 20th march, one man told me that it will take 5 working days, we will call you back . But no one called me back. Now today 29th march 07 i called to same number , one lady told me that sky sent order to bt to remove tag, but it is regected and now again we have to order. Now this time lady told me that it will take 15 working days. Is there any sence in that??.

can you please help me , i am fed up with this sky customer service.

    Hello R MESTHA,

Sadly there is little you can do other than pursue sky, if you call BT Tag on 0800 169 9576 and express the fact they can't remove the tag and you have cancelled with them they should help.

Re: LLU Tag on Telephone line by sky broad band

Ask sky to put a MANUAL cease order through to BT. It should be done then. (Ask to speak to a Supervisor or Team Leader/ Line manager)

Manual cease meaning that they call up BT rather than putting it through the system.

Wait 7 working days. If that dont work then get in touch with Ofcom.

    Ofcom tele: 0207 981 3040

    Hope that helps.

    Belal

Re: LLU Tag on Telephone line by sky broad band

I notice the message above is long term ago, but I just want to write about my similar experience with BT and AOL.

I ordered a BT line, first they told me there is a tag on it, so I was not able to use AOL broadband. I called up BT couple of times spending lots of hours on the phone, and BT cancelled by line by mistake and reordered the new BT line for me (They charge me 75 pounds for cancellation which I later dispute on it). I got the new BT line again with a tag on it. This time I called up BT and BT said I got to ring 'AOL' to remove the tag. I ring AOL and AOL ask me to ring BT. so forward and backward, then I understand what's going on. actually the tag is on the line, it means probably that the previous account holder of that phone line has internet, so it has a tag on it. So that means the internet service provider need not be AOL! AOL is just the service provider I would like to use. OK so I then called BT again saying the same thing I explained above, I got one amazing anwser,' Madam, I don't know which internet provider that the previous line holder was using, so I can't actually advice you anything, you better find out which internet provider it is'. common sense. How can I know how is that 'previous line holder' and what internet he is using. BT just gave me the line with a tag on it. How can I ever know???

So .. the issue resolved as follow:

I called up BT again, saying... I now want to use BT broadband instead of AOL broadband. So can you see if there are any ways to remove the BT tag? IMMEDIATELY, they pass me to another department and the tag got removed. And then, when they ask me if I want to join BT broadband, I said I would consider later.

I now have another house that need broadband. I just worry the same thing will happen again. It is completely nonsense and out of order. I cannot see why so much trouble would be generated and so much time involved for a broadband service. My opinion is if I buy a line from BT, I should not expect any trouble linked to that line. And those service providers always use 0845, 08.. phone, and long waiting queues, never call back. if you make a complaint, no use. I think my best advice is to make an email complaint, that's how I got my 75 pounds back.

I think I will write to BT if I got BT tag problem again in the new house.
