Re: Living Space or M&F Installations Ltd - Kitchen Installation

There is a lot of bad publicity that has been written about Living Space and I am writing as not enough people that are happy seem to put it in writing.

About a year ago my mother was diagnosed with a terminal illness and the thought of upgrading her kitchen never cross her mind until she was contacted by Living Space. At first she was very reluctant as she thought she was being rather selfish at purchasing a new kitchen at this moment in time and spending as she puts it “our inheritance”. I am so glad that she did purchase the kitchen for a number of reasons. She has worked hard for this money and for her not to be able to enjoy it at this stage in her life would be very selfish on my behalf. The kitchen was installed with minimal disturbance to my mother’s day to day routine. My mother is a fabulous cook and for her this new kitchen is an absolute treat as she is able spend time doing what she loves best in her stunning new kitchen and keeping her mind off other things.

My parents have still not got their money back. I have been given false names and details when I contact them and they have been rude and threatening. I have contacted trading standards now since the last time I spoke to them i was told that they would not be giving my parents their deposit back. Their goods might be fine but their morals and tactics certainly are not. We have done nothing wrong and have tried to deal with this company in the correct manner but they have not seen fit to do the same.

I am very sorry you feel this way, but correct me if I am wrong! but I do believe that just one "thankyou" is sufficient.

    CYNIC - Possibly???

I make you quite right Brewer Dave - surely a professional company with many many happy customers would 'never' stoop to creating accounts for the sole purpose of posting false praise of their own company? ;o)

    Oh wait...

BEWARE, DO NOT PURCHASE FROM LIVING SPACE!

I have my own story to tell. My encounter started with a phone call to look into buying a kitchen from livingspace. My wife agreed and we had a saleman come around. Spent 4 hours...finished his call at 11pm. He went through the usual talk and after everything we said we don't have the money and will speak to friends and family. He agreed with his boss, if you write a cheque, it won't get cashed until 10 days later. This will give sufficient time to cancel we assumed. We could not generate the funds and sent the slip within 7 days only to realise the cheque had already been taken by the company and cashed. (£1500 cheque). They don't seem to answer their calls in preston and when they do it is usually the receptionist. No one in the accounts office for a week!!! When a 'person' spoke after I requested to speak to the manager he refused to confirm his name or position. Not impressed at all and now I think its time to go to the courts. Spoken to the local MP who has been in contact with the local bank and the Ombudsman and we have contacted Trading Standards as well.
