mahash:- that i need to go through CAB to negotiate with them.

You can also go to the following for which the agencies will accept payment plans. It not only CAB.

living abroad with credit card debts

I was recently in full time employment, due to unforseen circumstances I moved abroad and cannot work at present. I have three credit cards which i was hoping to pay with my savings. My savings are now low as I have been out of work for longer than i thought.

My creditors are now chasing payments and I have been served with default notices by all three. I have sent budget sheets to all three agencies(the debts have now been passed onto them) and have been unsuccessfully trying to negotiate lower payments with them. I want to be able to come to a long term agreement with them where they can freeze interest/charges/penalities etc until im able to work again. I keep receiing the same answer - that i need to go through CAB to negotiate with them.

Its frustrating as im living abroad and unable to return to sort this - i want to be able to come to a proper solution ASAP as it is becoming a constant cause of stress!
