    Re: lifestyle insurance help

Good product 'idea'. Poor product and only hinders the continuous strive for full regulation and qualified advice/persons dealing with one's insurance.

    Good luck claiming !

Addressing your important point about whether you have to declare they declined to offer you insurance, just because they decided not to offer cover does not reflect adversely on you. Reading your blog, iprotect were clearly non-specific and it may have been any number of reasons completely unconnected with you or your application.

There are some technical considerations, such as some underwriters not wanting to insure too many people in the same postcode to spread the risk of unemployment clusters around specific employers/industries. There is no suggestion of any non-disclosure on your behalf, place your business with another company without hesitation.

    Re: lifestyle insurance help

    thanks for the reply.

i actually think the lifestyle insurance is a decent product. for myself atleast. it will cover my car, house and bill payments for less than covering my car alone! that said it doesn't suit everyone.

i did persue another policy today but again, i urge anyone to reconsider iprotectinsurance and it's a shame they top the moneysupermarket tree (where i heard of them)

    thanks

    Re: lifestyle insurance help

At least you didn't have to part with money before you found out that you can't speak to the right people. Imagine what they'd be like if you ever had to make a claim. I think that they have done you a favour.

Personally I avoid anything with the word "lifestyle" in the title. If you asked me why, I would have to say that it is a lifestyle choice. It is a silly word that is used to justify why one item is twice the price of another identical item.

    lifestyle insurance help

evening folks, i wonder if you can help me please.

i have applied for a lifestyle policy with www.iprotectinsurance.co.uk after reading/getting quote online from moneysupermarket and via the iprotect website. i filled in the little quick application and it said was suitable so i applied some 4-5 days ago.

today i got an email back-

    ---------------------------------------------
    Dear Sir

Thank you for your application for i:protect insurance.

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept your application. The decision has been made on referral to AmTrust International Underwriters Ltd,
who are the Insurers for i:protect; and we have been advised that your application does not meet the criteria
they have set for this particular scheme.

    Yours sincerely
    Underwriting Team
    ---------------------------------------------
i have no idea what i don't meet as they have said nothing in the email, i'm in good health, young and in a secure job i have been in for over 2 years. i have ofcourse replied asking what is wrong and how to fix.

my question is when asked now do i need to declare i have been refused insurance? i have looked about via google and the general feeling is no i do not as it wasn't refused as such, was more i didn't meet the criteria. refused being they terminate the policy or refuse to re-insure etc from what i can see on google. can anyone shed some light? does this go against my record?

while i'm here i would urge anyone thinking of using iprotectinsurance to reconsider. i have tried to call them and they are the most unhelpful people i have had to deal with. i can't even speak to the department i require, everything has to be done via email which is time consuming.

    thanks
