Re: life insurance or life assurance

Hi Suzanne, they are both the same in reality, just industry speak. You have two options - level term (which is where you insure a fixed value of say £100k over a 20 year period) or mortgage protection which specifically covers your mortgage and the level of cover decreases in line with the outstanding mortgage balance.

As these are complex financial products I would recommend that you call our regulated advisers on the following number 0845 3453284 and they will be able to give you specific advice and an indication of price from a large number of providers

    life insurance or life assurance

is there a difference between life insurance and life assurance. I need something that will pay out on my death to my partner to cover the cost of the mortgage. I have a strange situation at present, we own our flat and are in process of building a house. Should we get life cover for the total cost of both properties ( the projected value of the house being built plus the flat we have). i don't want critical illness but rather a policy that will clear the debt of the properties if either me or my partner dies.

    many thanks in advance

    Suzanne
