as far as I know a full investigation is being run and the police and fraud squad are involved now. Also Ivan Thompson from the trading standards of the leicester city council is looking into this matter,

As far as i am aware i got a letter from ivan thomas a while back asking me to send him any leaflets and any letter's i have as they would be used in court or something. But i have had no corespondence since then. Has anyone got Ivan Thomas's email address as it might be worth emailing him and finding out if they have got anywhere with the case or not

Dear All,

Following a joint Police and Trading Standards investigation, we are able to confirm that a 36-year-old local man has been charged with fraud offences. The man has been charged with three counts of with intent to defraud creditors (in this case customers). The charges relate to a number of offences committed between November 2007 and January 2008.

He has been bailed to appear at Leicester Magistrates court on Monday, February 2.

At this point, we cannot rule out further charges being made. When more information is available we will post a further thread.

I understand the police seized cash from the companies -if its been seized then the trading standards/police will try to claim the cash -problem with this is that it will go in their coffers and not back to the creditors -whilist its good there prosecuting the guys the bottom line is most people want cash back even if its a small amount - may be trading standards can enlighten us all as to the cash position

My boyfriend got a phone call from Letz Talk Communications Ltd offering him a new phone (with the contract on 3). He returned the phone as he decided he didn't want it and now 3 are asking him to pay for his contract. He phoned 3 up and told them he'd returned the phone and they said Letz Talk didn't tell them to cancel the contract.

He then phoned Letz Talk and was told they would let 3 know to cancel the contact. He got another letter this month from 3 asking for money and as he has been trying to sort everything out consequently got a letter from a debt collection agency working on the behalf of 3.

He then phoned Letz talk again who have now told him they never recevied the phone and to get in contact with Royal Mail.

Is this the same company everybody else has been having problems with and if so what is it he can do to stop 3 taking payments from him

When did this happen, i.e. when did you buy the phone and contract. As far as I am aware, this blog is to do with Letz talk in leicester which closed down months ago and when you call them, no one answers the calls as they company has gone into administration.

He got a phone call in January offering him the new phone and contract. When they dispatched the phone he returned it cos he didnt want it.

The address on the letter he got was Letz Talk Communicationms Ltd, 13 Mantel Street, Swansea, SA1 5SF. When you put this address in a search it comes up with what looks like a furniture store on Mansel Street not Mantel Street.

When he returned the phone he sent it to an address in Bradford cos that is the address on their website

I think this sounds like a different compnay trading under a similar name. I think you should contant you local trading standards and consumer direct by phone/letter. If there are many people in a similar situation like you, which they may well be, they may carry out an investigation. As far as I am aware, this blog is ralated to Letz Talk which operated in Leicester only, but I cannot be sure of this. May be the same people behind it.

Hi I dont know if anyone has recieved this but a couple of days ago i recieved a letter from CPS department at Leicester Police station about the case and the two people looking like husbund and wife who have been convicted for fraud.

did anyone else recieve this

Yes, I also got this letter stating that Criminal proceddings against these 2 people has began. The letter is about Victim support. Let's see the end of the tunnel!

there is currently a Letz Talk Communications running in Swansea , Wales , im not sure if its the same kind of chain . but im currently working for them as there the only effin place to give me a job.. im realy unsure of them as i checked there website and its doesnt have contact or details or where there based.. also its seems to be linked to the carphone warehouse website like there affiliated in some way.

there office is number 13 ( i think its 13 ) Mansel Street , Swansea unsure of postcode or contact number.. i was trying to call in unwell today as thats what made me check website for contact phone number...very dodgey if u ask me

sounds like something that LTC would do.. there a phone based retailing operation. not realy a shop as such.. they neglect to tell customers of the 14 day returns ect.. they do what they can to make sales as i think that alot of there earnings or commision based.

glad to say i havent made eny sales . as i dont use bullying tactics like the other sales people there.
