Hi,I think you will find that they offer up to 8mb,the connection speed as I understand it is dependent on many things, and because it all come through BT exchanges it would therefore depend on whether they have upgraded your local exchange, highly unlikely as  BT are not known for spending money on improving on landline cabling,in my area the underground cables are always breaking down, its the only time the cables get upgraded, and we then get improvements to the phone signal and therefore the internet connection.I personally dont believe it would be any better if you changed your service provider as it will come down the same cables.

By the sound of it I have the package as you. The problem is the speed which was promised 8mb, has not yet been reached, I am lucky if I get 2mb but more often than not its only just faster than dial up.

Thankyou for your comments very constructive

    Re: Leaving Talktalk

Hi,I am also a Talk Talk customer,I have phone line with unlimited 01/02 calls 24/7 and free international calls anytime and Broadband included all for £21 a month,I have not had a single problem since joining in april 2006 on an 18 month contract.I read what you write but you dont explain what package you have and why you want to leave, but what I do know is that there are dozens of companies out there that will promise you the earth to change over your package to them albeit at a higher monthly cost, with reduced price deals for a few months-but as soon as you sign on the dotted line they all lose interest in providing the service you expect for your hardearned cash, and you find unexpected charges showing up on your bill.Sorry if I been twittering on but my point is think very carefully if you change and try and get everything in writingbefore signing anything and if you can get a better deal then come back and let us all know.Best of luck

Good question.  I await response with anticipation as I am thinking of doing similar.  Bundled packages look good until you want to change.

    Leaving Talktalk

I am currently a Talktalk customer. I am thinking of leaving them and joining BT or maybe another supplier. How do I go about changing and what about the line rental side of things.  Do I have to go back to BT with the line rental, telephone and broadband.  Can someone please help?
