C:hi im in real need of your help we are in a DMP with laurence charlton.We are due to make our 2nd monthly payment to them tomorrow of £134 but as of 2 days ago we are still receiving letters off the creditors saying that they havent heard from us? surely by now they must have and l.c. are saying they have e mailed the creditors please help

Have this DMC fully advised you on all your options?

If a Debt Management Plan is an appropriate solution / remedy for you then using a free provider such as CCCS or Payplan will almost certainly mean that you will pay your debts off quicker as they take no fees either up front or on a monthly basis.

You could also try managing your own DMP via the now recognised systems as below (or perhaps others DIY avenues)

Always make sure you get full independent, impartial advice and it has to be your choice / decisions at the end of the day

With all DMP's, they will tell you that it can take a few months before you stop receiving correspondence from creditors.

I have just looked at the LC website. They take 17.5% of your monthly payments as their fee, subject to a minimum of £30.

Are you sure that this represents the best way of dealing with your debts ? Have you spoken to some of the debt registered charities, to see what they can offer ? I would suggest that you look at the CCCS DMP, as they don't charge a fee. Every penny you pay, goes towards the debt.
