Re: Late Payments and Lloyds Duo

Many thanks for your swift response. I have printed out todays' Credit Card statement confirming the payment is 'available' but not shown as a payment received.

As this has only happened a few times I am going to have to check back on statements etc. to see if this can be 'proved' on these other payments, as this may only show once for each occasion payment is made.

I have all the correspondence in connection with the date of application of the change of Credit Limit (it being applied at lease 3 weeks prior to official notification) so again, no problem there.

I was extremely upset by the 'tone' of the Lloyds 'response' letter as it implies that I have not handled my accounts with the utmost care, which I have!

They referred to my Credit File on which there is nothing detrimental showing, other than that I am making all payment on time. 2 Catalogues and mobile phone.

They show an 'alternative' address which I have queries several times with ID Aware who tell me they will 'correct this error' but still no action, and still it shows. I have nothing whatsoever to do with that address, and have lived at my present home for 23 years!

Raise a complaint in writing with Lloyds.

As far as I know, when you make a faster payment, it is like paying the credit card bill by cash. The credit card company receive the money immediately after the transaction, so no delay.

If Lloyds keep changing the payment date, I think the FOS frown upon this, particularly if you are penalised with a £12 fee for being one day late.

In your complaint to Lloyds, threaten to involve the FOS, if Lloyds are unable to come to an amicable settlement.

In regard to changing interest rates or limits, I believe they have to provide atleast one months notice of this.

    Late Payments and Lloyds Duo

Because of 'shifting' balance due by dates, I prefer to pay manually online.

In two and a half years' I have missed a payment by one day at the most maybe 4 times and have been stung with the late payment charge of £12.

Early this morning 13.02.12 I made a 'faster payment' from my Lloyds current account to credit card account - several days before due date, but here is the thing I don' understand, and looking back I can see it also account for at least 3 of my late fees.

Faster payment left my current account at 02.13 this morning.

At midday today my online Credit Card Account was showing my 'amount available' as including this payment, however, it was NOT posted as being a payment, so I assume this is how they 'catch you out'.

So, although the payment is made and RECEIVED ok, but should it not be posted until a day later, they slap on a late payment fee/!

They reduced my limit last month and I only found out by checking online, yet I wrote and queried this and was informed it was because of these 'late' fees, but, I only received 'official' confirmation that this was to happen 'from the date of this letter' which was dated a good 3 weeks AFTER my limit was decreased, even after they had responded to my reply!

Can this be right, the answer will probably be 'yes' I know, but morally?
