Depends how many years you've been uninsured. Usually the insurance companies want claim details for the last 5 years only I think.

The best bet is to speak to a broker, who should be up-to-speed with the current regulations.

Lapsed home insurance - where could I find details?

Unfortunately we have allowed our buildings and contents insurance to lapse and therefore have no details of previous claims (I know, really stupid!). Is there anywhere that these details would be held, maybe on a central database? Also, having been uninsured for a number of years, will our new insurance be classed as 'first time' insurance?

    Any info gratefully received.

    Thanks
