hi all well i fianaly got my letter and guess what no suite surprise surprise...they have really p..... me off they could have at least have the decency to have replied to my oringinal inquiry, which i sent recorded delivery but they can't be bothered, keeping people hanging on as you might guess i'm narked thought i might share this little snipet i found as follows... Since our appointment, we have fulfilled 9,800 customer orders. We would like to reassure customers that upon closure of the stores the processing of any outstanding orders will be automatically transferred to the group's head office.

"We have already written to all affected customers to confirm their order and have commenced ordering products from the Far East to meet such orders.

"We anticipate fulfilling a further 10,000 orders through this process."

Any customers with queries should contact the administrators' on-site dedicated customer helpline on 01474 543 255.you aint fullfilled my order...you wouldent even respond to emails letters i was about to say phone calls but then again i did get through to that really helpful helpline only to be told its on order....mybe...if your lucky with a west wind blowing from the east..we will fullfill your order...haaaaaa.... delloitte have apalling customer service. i hope that one of these days that delloitte might be in our postion, and i'm on the other end of the phone saying you will get the goods..(laugh)..honest its in the docks..yeah it will be with you in ten weeks..mybe twelve....ok enough ranting hope anybody in my situation does better than me all the best.........viva la revolution! marky1000

Re: Land of Leather - Sales

My mother in law went LOL last wk, most of the sofas were damaged, not just a bit that could be fixed but really badly damaged, yet the cheapest one was still £299.... the remaining few that were ok, were still around £1000... so sad.... seeing the conditions of the leather i'm starting to wonder if ours will go the same way! fortunatly i'm one of the lucky ones that got warrenty before they changed the cover!

Really feel for those less fortunate!

Hope ur DFS experience will be a less stressfull one. good luck

Re: Land of Leather - Sales

Good News............. Brought a sofa etc today! From DFS (probably just as bad! but we're desperate!!) Watch this space!?

1/2 the price, very similar, cheaper delivery, roughly same delivery time 10 weeks.............

Went into LOL......It was awful, all their stores are closing monday, everything is reduced, but the majority of it was damaged and in bad condition for the prices they were asking.....Sad!!

Re: Land of Leather - Sales

    Thanks Peter,

We're sooo glad we cancelled and were able to, we just didn't want to part with any money and especially give it to companies that have been so unhelpful to what seems the majority of furniture customers in the UK.... Anyway we are going sofa hunting AGAIN this weekend, So wish me luck...x

I shall look into the company you mentioned, Thanks for that!!

Re: Land of Leather - Sales

    Hey,

This is just some information for everyone (not specifically 'foxymand') about the Extended Warranties.

I work for HomeServe. I can confirm that your Extended Warranty is still in place and will continue until the expiry date shown on the front of your certificate. Please be aware that you're not covered for EVERYTHING - even though they may use wording in LOL which may lead you to believe this. The new LOL-policies (sold from June 2008) does not cover for

PET DAMAGE - EXCESSIVE LOSS OF RESILIENCY or FAILURE OF STITCHING.

These 3 things are the most common claims.

The old policies (sold from 2005) cover for these things, but you must be aware that stitching failure is is if the stitching is coming undone (threading) and not if the leather match is pulling away from the stitching line.

The policies cover for Accidental Damage, which is A SUDDEN AND ACCIDENTAL EVENT RESULTING IN A RIP, TEAR, BURN, PUNCTURE OR SCUFF - This has to be a one off event, and will be declined if it's a build up over time.

The technicians are very good & professional, but they are not trained in the policies. There are 100s of different policies that we deal with, so if they comment on something and states that this will be repaired, this might not be the case. In the office authorise the claims (based on the tech's report) in accordance with the terms and conditions of the specific policy that you've bought, and this is done after 5-10 days after the tech has been out. If you're declined, a letter will be sent out to you, and if it's covered, then you're more than likely to have to wait a little longer, as we have to authorise the repairs, etc.

This was just a little bit of info for you all. Hope it is useful, and if any questions just give me a shout. (If you have a claim, call 0870 320 6614 ;-)

    Thanks

    HSW

Re: Land of Leather - Sales

Some good news here!......................Our order and finance has been cancelled (we hadn't paid anything, we signed up for finance 1yr interest free and had the extended warranty, ALL CANCELLED.......... We can finally relax.

After numerous phonecalls and letters we were given the choice via a letter to either have a free delivery or 5% off of our order, With another 10-12 week wait !!!! After waiting 18 weeks already!? So we took the decision to do neither!! I phoned the administrators and they were the ones to tell us to write "Cancel this order" on the form we had to return regarding the choice of discount.....

And hey presto 2 weeks later everything is cancelled and we have it in writing too, (In a safe place)

So theres still hope out there,

The only pain is having to look for another sofa and ordering and waiting again.

    Good luck

Re: Land of Leather - Sales

I have also set two letters by recorded delivery...and guess what...no response. Ive now instructed my bank to investigate as I believe no sofa and no refund constitutes a fraudulent transaction, especially considering the timescales involved (see earlier post for details).

Re: Land of Leather - Sales

    Hi,

I'm at work at the Mo, But i have a number that gets you throught to the administrators 08004960868, but when i get home i'll write the "dedicated helpline number" on here, But if i'm honest its not that dedicated, you have to press "0" constantly once you hear the first message, and go on hold, you'll be on hold for a while....its just pressing the "0" constantly that gets a bit frustrating, but eventually someone will answer, DO NOT leave a message (which is option "1") They won't call you back.....just keep pressing "0".......I'll leave the number on here lateron (i finish work at midnight) or tomorrow.....

    Good luck x

Let me know how you get on ?

I'll also let you know what my letter said......
