Hi - Call by your local CAB who will run a full benefit and working tax credit entitlement check for you, just pop your postcode in the box for details.

JSA for my 17yr old twins

    Hi

Can anyone help me here......I am a single parent working on average 30hours per week. My twin sons, age 17, left school last year and alas have not been able to find employment. Is it possible for them to claim JSA whilst living at home with me as i am struggling to keep my head above financial water! I have checked the Job centre plus website and from that i understand that they can claim if they weren't living at home. Things are really strained now as i earn less than £190 per week for a care agency, so if there's not much work my earnings are even less.

It seems unfair that we are penalised for wanting to live as a family unit and im struggling to provide them with clothing & footwear (cheaply at that) etc.

Please can someone give advise on this matter
