    Re: IVA and credit files

Once you get into an IVA, your creditors accept that they are not going to get much of the debt back. They will do whatever they can to get as much as possible but different organisations will treat the matter in different ways in their internal accounting. There is no obligation on organisations to close your account at any time but the balance on the account should be zero at the end of the IVA.

    IVA and credit files

Hi, I'm in year two of my IVA, and having just had a look at my credit files, I'm wondering why some of the accounts included in my IVA appear as closed, while others still show as open. When do creditors have to formally close my account with them? Should they remain open until I've completed the IVA?
