You may say it is legal because it is stated in the contract, but so were the extortionate credit card fees. And we all know what happened when they were challenged with legal action.

Is it legal what you are doing? Unauthorised borrowing?

I can't advise you about the legality of it, but my advice would be to write to them recorded delivery asking for a break down of the charges. Keep a copy of the letter and give them a definate date to respond by, if nothing else when you have gone through their complaints procedure you can refrer it the the ombudsman,

    Is this Legal?

Last month I had a bit of a spending spree before I knew it, pay day arrived,... When I looked at a ministatement I was shocked to see such a deduction... I went over my overdraft by £50 [Shopping and petrol needs] I was charged well over £130... a hundred and thirty pounds!... I phoned Abbey in order to attempt to reclaim money that is mine, and I was told that because Abbey had generously given me £5 for goodwill 6 months earlier [ which I knew nothing about ] I couldn't claim a penny back.

Is there any way I can get my money back?
