Re: Is Madasafish for me ?

    Hi Tony,

Not good news I'm afraid !!. Woke up friday morning- no dial tone on the phone- so no phone-  and it is now tuesday and still have no dial tone !! so no broadband either (using one at work). Madasafish have been very helpful in trying to sort out the problem. BT have claimed once to have fixed the problem but to no avail. As we have mobiles with pay-as-you-go with emergency credit only it has been a nightmare accessing a phone and we have had to rely on our neighbours kindness, plus we have a 9 month old baby so need the phone.

no idea what the broadband will be like if we ever get the phone working as I know when you go live you are suppose to leave the router on for 10 days and we can't currently do that. So not a good start.

I will keep you posted, and thanks for asking.

     Stephanie.

Re: Is Madasafish for me ?

    Hi Tony,

Good news we are up and running -BT came out and fixed the problem on saturday. I am happy with the broadband so far (as we were on dial up before !), it was so easy to do. I know we were without services just over a week - but the customer service we recieved from Madasafish is the reason why I would recommend them- they would ring our mobile to see how things were and I think that is what counts., and we are glad we are withb them.

So very happy with the service so far !.

    Stephanie.

    Hi Stephanie.

Glad to here you got the services sorted out, its unfortunate that it has taken a week to sort out the problem but i dont think you should have any real problems from now on.

My father is looking at swapping from BT/Virgin.net(for bb) to MAAF for his whole package.

Good luck, & keep us posted with to how you find MAAF.

    regards tony t

Re: Is Madasafish for me ?

Personally, I would avoid telephone and broadband bundles. I would also purchase my own connection equipment (Preferably an ADSL router) and pay my own connection fees.

The above would allow you to put yourself in the driving seat with a provider that offers a one month contract. The Entanet resellers offer a one month contract with a 30Gig/300Gig peak/offpeak bandwidth allowance with no port blocking or traffic management, excellent latency, unlimited email, 50M webspace with free hosting and importantly, UK support that is second to none for £19.99 inclusive per month.

Second user routers etc can be purchased very reasonably from dsldepot.co.uk. For example, the Netgear DG824M wireless enabled 4 port ADSL router is currently available for £10.00 inc VAT.

ADSL activation will cost £52.88 inc VAT.

Re: Is Madasafish for me ?

    Hello Dai

I understand from a quality perspective why you would avoid a broadband / phone bundle, but other people look at a bundle as a way of saving money. Although you're right in many cases people get lumped with a poor quality phone part of a bundle, (ie Orange's VOIP platform) there are others that do offer a fairly good bundled product such as Madasafish.

    Cheers
