Thanks Joe,  I think this is where i have become very confused.  I have had a student account for the past 5years with the facility to use upto £1250 if i needed it interest free and as a student i never required it. Only now i could do with it and without the interest until i get back on top in about 2 months time.

yes as long as I do not go over my over draft limit of 200.00

It comes in very handy as a back up but it is not your money so only use in emergancies

Having an agreed overdraft should not be confused with an interest free overdraft.

An agreed overdraft means that the bank will allow you to go overdrawn by a certain amount (Overdraft Limit) but the bank will not charge you as you would be if it was an unauthorised overdraft. However you will be charged interest in any case unless you have been given an interest free overdraft by your bank.

Do all overdrafts charge you interest?  I thought you get an agreed over draft and iof you go over thst you get charged.
