    Re: Insuring on Chassis Number

Did you get any joy with chassis number insurance? I have recently moved back to the U.K. and am having the same trouble registering my car. Even those that will insure a car using it's chassis No. only insure those resident in the U.K. for the last 3 years. Any advice would be appreciated!

The Irish insurance will cover it in the UK, but in order to get it registered with the DVLA it needs to have a valid certificate from an English insurer. I will be looking into Herts though, thanks for the lead.

See if an Irish Insurers will cover the car while in the UK, until it is re-registered.

If not you could enquire with Herts Insurance who are a brokers who arrange all sorts of Motor Insurances that are not widely available.

    Insuring on Chassis Number

I'm looking to import my car into the UK from the Republic of Ireland, and am hoping to take out a months insurance on the chassis number. Does anyone know of any companies that will allow me to do this? The only company that I have found that will do this is Haven, however on a previous trip to the UK I used Haven, and they won't allow a second policy on the chassis number.

Any help wil be greatly appreciated because I'm drawing a massive (and very stressful) blank at the moment.
