the hands of the airport handlers...

It is a racing certainty that if you give your bike to the luggage handlers and if it goes on the normal conveyor belts, it will get damaged unless it is wrapped - there will be too many bits sticking out that will get stuck in their equipment.

    Insuring bicycles for travel

I am looking for insurance that will cover me to take a bicycle abroad. I am finding it difficult to find a policy that covers sporting equipment - most have info about winter sports equipment or golf. Does anyone know how I can specify that when looking to compare insurance quotes? Moneysupermarket does not appear to have a feature, and "baggage" allowance of £250 will not cover the cost of replacing my bike! Many thanks

As an aside, one of the companies I looked at specifies it does not cover you for damage incurred to your baggage whilst it is the hands of the airport handlers...
