Well I have to say, I found Direct Line to be fantastic. I went from a 55 reg 407 to a brand new Octavia vRS PD, and they actually LOWERED my premium by a fair amount. They're not on any comparison site, but may well be worth checking out their web. They're not great for all cars - I've also got a toy which they wouldn't quote for, but if you've got something sensible, it may be worth ten minutes of your time.

Dan --- Start afresh by clicking the Red insurance tab at the page top then input your details, you only need do this the once for comparisons of most insurers then save the results so you can compare the cover is adequate for your needs before you purchase.

I did it this weekend, it took me 30 minutes and it saved me £132 for exactly the same cover, by switching from esure to Saga.

    insurance re-newal!

well, its that time of the year again, where i go ,through the annual fiasco of renewal,i say fiasco, because you can guarantee, that even with a good driving/claims record, your insurance will either be similar(if lucky!),or more likely rise,

this time around,im starting, with a newer car, puchased late last year,2nd hand, and its diesel, rather than my older high performance petrol type, but you guessed it, still a not competitive quote from my exhisting insurer,on renewal, why oh why don't these companies look after us better drivers!,and go after the uninsured, and bad drivers, let them pay for thier mistakes, not me!, its about time this was sorted out,and having been driving now for over 26 years, i think its time me,and others were looked after, give us a break!

    dan, london.
