Someone has to pay for their plush office blocks.

I've stated several times on these boards that in New Zealand they have a system where legal minimum insurance is included with their version of the tax disc for about £70 per year. Insurance companies there actually have to offer something worthwhile to get business.

Oh yes, forgot to add...............they increased my premium also!! Even though I'd moved from a crime prone city suburb to a peaceful rural location where the local ' bobby' has advised the residents that a neighbourhood watch scheme is a waste of time, due to low crime levels................astounding!!

They all do it. Some charge as much as £40. Sometimes a change of address can result in a change in the risk assessment which will cause the premium to increase too.

    Insurance Company Admin Fees

I've recently moved home and as part of the process I had to inform a variety of different bodies of my change of address. These included; utility companies, banks, store card and credit companies, government departments and insurance companies.

Could someone please educate me as to why, from all these organisations, only one felt it necessary to charge me an " admin fee" for the privilege of moving home ( £25 )? To add insult to injury, the process was completed as I was speaking to the representative of the company as he was typing as I was speaking and actually said, " That's fine, that's been done now".

    £25 for 20 seconds work..........can't be bad !!!
