All you can do is estimate. eBay, other auctions and catalogues may help. All you can do is use the information that is available to make a list, make a sensible guess of the value for each item and show it to the insurance company. If they dispute any of the values, you can explain how they were arrived at (e.g. a similar item sold for £x on eBay, etc).

Insurance Claim - How to valuate damaged 12" vinyl lp's ???

Any idea how I go about this?

Recently had a flood and destroyed all my vinyl/record collection - Insurance company confirmed they will pay out - They are requesting a list and value of all the individual records

I have a collection of rare and hard to find records which some were bought and some were passed down but are all worth alot more today than paid for (eg Elvis/Beatles/led Zeppelin/60's/70's/Welsh/Bootlegs/RareTrance/Chart/Indie/Pop/2001-2007)

So how would I valuate them?

    Thanx
