Have read that some now go up to 4X, but it depends on your financial position. If you do a google for mortgage income mulitples, there is a site which I cannot mention here due to rules, that shows that up to 5x may be available for incomes £60k plus, with high credit scores.

Your best bet is to go to a local Independent Mortgage Broker for advice.
