    improving my credit score

    hi there

i wanted to know how can i improve my credit score

I entered into a IVA in 2006 for debts upto £15000.00, however i got married in 2007 and my partner offered to payoff my IVA!

In May 2008 my IVA is settled, got the relevant paperwork and checked my credit report, i have noticed that some accounts are marked with defaults which i wrote to the Creditors explaining the situation. still waiting back from them - have i done this correctly??

do i need to send my Certificate of completion to the credit agencies??

i tried to apply for credit card but they decline me, am i able to write to them to reconsider my application but offer me a small credit limit and then to monitor my progress.

the reason why i ask this - is me and my husband are looking to purchase a property but because of my IVA on file i feel i won't be able to get onto the mortgage - can you advise me please

With an IVA a large sum is written off, the defaults would stay on the account and you will remain to get declined. An Iva is not something that is small and is a step down from bankrupcy.

first check if your iva is recorded insolvency service website. If its still on dont bother applying.
