I suggest that you keep one, simply to maintain your credit record (obviously if you use it, pay it off straight away if possible), and for emergencies.

Good to read that you have realised how dangerous these cards can be! Good luck.

My first thoughts are that, if you have spent too much on credit cards, you will have done well to get a loan at this rate. Most lenders are wary about lending in your situation unless it is clear that the borrower wont use the opportunity to spend more.

If you are rejected by Santander, then you should indeed try to bring down the debts before applying anywhere else.

I'm taking 6.500 loan need advice

    Hi

I'm planning to take £6500 @12.9 % for 4 years offered by Santander to consolidate all my credit cards (5 overall split between me and my partner)

Repayment is £170 p/m which is a lot to me but at the same time there are months when I pay up to £200 p/m now towards credit cards

My question is - is this wise decision,is the APR reasonable or should I maybe try to repay one or two cards and apply for another loan in 6 months time hoping for better APR.

    Any advice will be appreciated

    Thanks
    Dawid
