Just found this site. Retired and was a broadband virgin when I signed on to talk talk a year ago,when i realised that  it was not Free Broadband in my area was told that it would arrive "soon"  How many were told this , and when is soon?

Talk Talk are extremely good. Thank goodness I changed over from Tiscali to Talk Talk, support second to none

I've had no problems with talktalk. Switched over 15 months ago. Phone line was set up as stated. The free broadband was going to take 3 months. Infact it was available in just under 6 weeks. My bill never seems to go over £25 per month. That includes line rental, broadband and telephone calls. However,I do seem to get ripped off by 0870 and 0845 numbers. That was the case when we were with BT previously. I was so happy that I have had talktalk installed in my son's house and there have been no problems. I do not work for talktalk and I am not an expert. Just a happy customer. Kevin 

I'm sorry- I have to say this. To anyone who works for the Cobra Group- they are 1st class sh*tpots. Certain individuals tried to blackmail, terrorise and bully me when I was part of the organisation, and I came close to a full-blown nervous breakdown. Earn all you can in 6 months and jump ship; there are some truly unscrupulous people there and if they decide to destroy you, where's your help? It's a nasty, incestous little world and you forget what your life was about.

im concerned with ppl that signing up with talk talk i made this mistake because of thier cheap prices.

I made this mistake and did kick myself around the house for 3 days solid shouting the words "YOU CRAZY NOOB FOOL"

i do know a little about networks wont go into now :-), but i have to agree with DAI YOUNG about connection speeds and talk talk missleading customers about thier 8 meg (Cough 2 meg if lucky)download speeds shame on them.

and Beware if a door knocker calls on  offering to sell you a plate of ***  ask him to hold it up underneath you will see the TALK TALK Label.

What an entertaining thread this is!

1st off some of my opinions. Door canvassing is a perfectly ligit and reasonable method of taking your product or service to market if done in the right way. To those who object to it I would ask which is more ethical face to face marketing that is clear and obvious or multi national corporations that use loyatly and points cards to to sell to you via the 'back door'?

2nd BT's levels of service are unbelievably bad. When I wanted to cancel my broadband and phone it took me no less than 8 hours of waiting on the phone (spread accross 10 or so half hour plus waits) to get it done (on a NGN as well - more revenue for BT).

My Girlfriend recently wanted broadband. Same issue (on a sales line), no communication between departments and 5 calls and over 7 hours worth of waiting later she still had no idea what BT would charge to install.

I work in a call centre selling talk talk, im glad i came across this site, because my gosh.

 

STOP PHONING SALES TO COMPLAIN OR QUERY YOUR BILL! ALL SALES CAN DO IS SELL YOU A PRODUCT, WE CANT EVEN TRANSFER, SO WHY RING US, WE WILL ONLY TELL YOU TO PHONE CUSTOMER SERVICES!

We work on a conversion rate at work, and i have to convert 22% of the calls I get to sales, if I don't, it means I don't get any commision, even if i make like 25 sales, i still wont get it, so please stop phoning the 0800 numbers, they are all the sales lines, the 0870 numbers are free from talk talk landlines.

 

please im begging you, im trying to save for glasses, my eyes have gone really bad, please, dont phone the 0800 numbers for anything other than wanting broadband or phone packages.
 

just to let u know 0845, 0844 and 0870 are free from either june or july

i used to work doin door to door for talktalk and i worked there a month thinkin it wos a good deal til i came here and noticed its cheap at first then prices go up. its all a con. and i havnt bin paid for wot i done so the company i work for is crap too i bet they got paid not me. so i screwed customers and company screwed me .
