    Re: ICESAVE

    Hi Yorkshire lad

i have had some confusion with Nat West , I opened an account with them a couple of weeks ago in advance of getting back isa , they told me i could do all this , and filled in a transfer form , i did explain that i couldnt transfer something that was frozen but they said that this was okay they had lots of icesave customers doing the same,First i get a standared letter telling me that i cannot do this and explaining what i had told them in the first place ,,Now i have had a phone call saying that the account that i openened with offer for transfer is not now available and it will just be a sinple isa account appoligising for wrong information but i will still be able to operate it with out the special transfer in rate , She did say that they were still awaitng head office instructions , I had more information than her so at the moment i am just waiting to see, I have been re reading the paragraph from FSCA that relates to isa and they say you process it in the same way as an instant acess but does that mean it will go into my nominated bank account , or just that it will complete the process and the certificate is the key and if that is the case , that will be another 2 weeks before i actually have the money from the isa in my control again. at first reading i thought that it would go into my bank account ready for me to transfer it with the certificate , now i am not so surel or i am just being a bit thick

    Re: ICESAVE

You should receive an email from the FSCS this week - mine arrived on Tuesday. It says that your ISA will be repaid to your bank account when you complete the FSCS process, and that you will receive an ISA certificate by post which you will have to give to your new provider. They go on to say that "you should ask for an ISA transfer form from your new provider", so it looks to me like the certificate will be a magic token to allow the new provider to accept money from you as if it was a transfer

    Hi All

Can someone just clear this up for me, I have opened an ISA account with NATWEST to hopefully transfer funds from ICESAVE into when i get my email, NATWEST have advised i need to send the ISA transfer form off with my ICESAVE account details on and they will transfer over in about 30 days. From reading various posts i get the impression i can transfer to my nominated account through ICESAVE's website ( a general savings account) when its back up and running and then transfer to my new ISA as long as i give them the ISA certificate that they will send me? Is this the best way to go about it so i don't lose my tax free allowance?

    Thanks
