    i must be the exception!

i've been with talktalk for a few years now.  i've no complaints about the service, when my husband died and i had to take over the account and set it all up in my name they were brilliant, everything i asked them to do was done and they were very polite and helpful.  Did i get through to the bosses office by mistake???

The only thing i would like is for them to update my exchange but since i live at the end of the world i guess it'll take time. We don't get cable or any such new fangled gadgets so we have a very limited choice, i am a lot better off than some folk who live further out than me who can only get very limited services

Hi I've not really had any problems with talktalk but I know quite a lot of people that have so I count myself as lucky.

You're not the exception although you are in the minority.

In a recent analysis of all of our customer reviews for Talk Talk we discovered that:

74% were active customers (ie they went live with broadband)
26% were inactive customers (ie they never went live with the service and left or are still waiting)

We found overall that Talk Talk reviews seemed to divide Talk Talk customers into specific groups differentiated between active and inactive customers. At least half of all active Talk Talk customer reviews were very satisfied with the price and service they received and were very complimentary about Talk Talk. The other half of active Talk Talk customer reviews said they were not only waiting a long time to get connected, they were also beset with technical problems, the main ones being repeated disconnection, lack of speed and email problems.

So of those that went active, half were very satisfied with the service on offer whereas the other half have had a nightmare since day one.

    I hope this helps?

    Cheers

Re: i must be the exception!

    Hello

I haven't visited the forums for a while and when I did, I was involved in the epic "Have you got it yet?" Sky broadband thread. My experience with them was awful and I am nearly out of the contract after 8 months. I was very keen not to go running back to expensive BT so I've thrown my lot in with Talk Talk.

I've dipped into some of the bad experience threads on Talk Talk and I'm glad I didn't visit them before signing up - I would have been put off.

I'm now 2 months in and apart from an overnight loss of dial tone (once only) and ditching their wired modem for my trusty Belkin wireless, everything has been very good indeed. The speed is around 2mb, which is a little slower than Sky, but there is hardly any drop out or pausing. We regularly have four people on line and sharing the connection so you can imagine the moans I would get if it weren’t up to par.

So far so good, and the broadband is free...
