You will find that your insurance is valid throughout the EU without time limit (EU law) The question is, how long your company will allow the Fully comp section to be valid.

Also you will find that there is a requirement to report any incident where a claim is likely, to the insurer.

You should now contact the company and report the accident/fill in claim form.

I had an accident abroad, it was my fault

Hello, It is my first post here, I need some advice. I have a VW Passat registered in UK, insured with GATEWAY fully comp.

I had an accident which was my fault it was 14 of July and happenned in Poland while I was on holiday. I hit a car and this car hit another one. The police came and gave me a ticket for causing that. The drivers from cars involved took my details and policy number, I diidnt take any details from them, I was still in shock after the accident, I didnt call my insurer.

My car had to be fixed a bit cause the next day i was driving to Holland which is 800 miles, my grill was moved back for about an inch. The garage did their job but still there are some parts that neeed fixing .

I read my insurance terms and my car is insured abroad for up to 45 days, I was there less than that.

Obviously cars that took part in the accident will trace my insurer and make a claim.

My question is will my insurer repair the car for me?

    What should I do now?
