Re: i got engaged....what now for my IVA?

    1) Does not affect any property that is your future wifes.

    2) No.

    3) If your financial circumstances change then you would advise the debt management company.

However, if you ever failed to main your IVA and creditors then came after you, they would no doubt cause your wife and yourself hassle at the address where you live. So you should really tell her about the IVA and about the consequences if you ever defaulted on payments. As soon as you break your agreement and default on your payments your Insolvency Practitioner will contact you to find out what is going on. If you cannot come up with a valid reason for defaulting or refuse to communicate with them then he/she may simply apply to have you declared bankrupt by issuing a certificate of default. The bankruptcy process in itself will be much tougher on you than your IVA and may well see you lose specific assets that your IVA ring-fenced, so this really is a route best avoided wherever possible.

i got engaged....what now for my IVA?

I am due to get married lter this yeafr and my partner knows nothing about my IVA i am due to enter my 4th year of the VA so hopefully should complete in 24 months. My fnancial situation remains exactly the same, i live with her in her house and this will remain exactly the same after we are married. I hav a couple of questions:

    1. Is her property effected by my IVA, i am not named on he mortgate at all, will just be married to her?

    2. Is my debt become her issue?

    3. Do i need to advise my debt management comapny i am getting married despite it having no impct on my finaincial situation?
