    HYDRAULIC STAYS/ TAILGATE STRUTS

    my cars hydraulic stays has failed. Has anyone experienced this before? My car was involved in a minor accident a week ago but the problem has only occurred now. Do you think this is related? I drive a scenic

    Hi....I know I am a financial adviser but I am also qualified motor technician......Renault gas stays are quite reliable and if the shunt was at the rear end the rod can bend and cause a general gas escape from the units, this can be checked by removing the units and rolling them on a perfectly flat surface such a a sheet of glass. It seems to be a bit coincidental to just happen out of the blue??? You can get cheap replacements on e bay.
