    Re: HSBC Account

I have banked with Midland/HSBC since 1964 and find my local branch very good. Recently I discovered the paying in facilities in other branches and asked in my branch and via complaints whether this could be made available here. I was advised that my branch didnt have the staff for this but wonder whether improving facilities will encourage more people to use it.Time to move with the times I think

    Re: HSBC Account

I have had my account since it was the Midland Bank!

I have used NatWest and a couple of others, but overall, I like HSBC; they have always answered the phones quickly, they have always been courteous and I have always been helped where they felt they could assist me.

My only grumble is that recently I went in with my shopping trolley and couldn't get upstairs to use the counter service due to the lift being out of order; I asked the security man on the ground floor if he could just watch my trolley for a moment whilst I attended to my business upstairs but he refused stating security issues - my trolley was completely empty!  I hadn't started shopping for the day at that point.

The good thing is that there are now automated machines which let you pay in money without queueing for a counter assistant.

Overall, a good bank - at the moment, thought they are going through a lot of changes by the looks of it and that may not be to everyones advantage ultimately.

    Re: HSBC Account

With the massive customer traffic on the phone, web and in branch, you'd never even get close enough to open one if you tried, not at the moment!

    Re: HSBC Account

Absoulutly. I was told I could have a postgraduate loan until I actually walked into the bank. It wouldnt be so bad but I bought the dam car with money from a family member as a short term loadn before I took out the loan from the bank. Really screwed me up but thankfully my family member was understanding. Account closed swiftly after that.

    Re: HSBC Account

It does sound like you have had a poor experience with HSBC perhaps it is time for you to check out their competitors to see whether the staff there fill you with confidence.

In the meantime I don't think you have been unduly deregatory in your comments about them and this thread gives others the opportunity to compliment them or criticise them accordingly.

Of course if HSBC respond to your feedback in a positive way then I'm sure you will come back and tell us all about it.

    Re: HSBC Account

I dont know if we can so openly criticize a company/bank. By the way, i sent a feedback to hsbc and mentioned some of the things i said above (expect for the stoned part. i really think i am right about it, but still what if i wrong, it can create problems about someone career so thats why i skipped it in the feedback.)

You may delete my post if you find it offense.

(I just thought its a free country though.)

    Cheers!

    Re: HSBC Account

hehe. I dont work for any bank.

Even if i was working for a big bank, i dont think posting message in a forum would have any impact on the potential customers and exisitng customers of HSBC.

    Anyways,

Whenever i go to the bank, they always a different weird kinda personality serving me (except for, i must confess, my branch manager, he knows his bits), i always found it strange, when i went there the first time to open my account, two bank employees started arguing about somethings (o/d, cards, my degree, etc.), found it very odd. Next time i went there and i was served by a girl who was either stoned or very very tired. Next time i went to the bank and i mentioned "MBA" and this some other girl who was serving me had no idea about what MBA stands for. Its a bit too much. My wife wanted to open a current account with them and they refused. I have a good credit history and my wife's credit history is better than mine. Its just that we both wanted to have a same bank. All this is becoming just too much.

    Re: HSBC Account

It's probably quite difficult to catagorise a whole company as 'a bit rude'. Perhaps you could elaborate a bit more on your experience so others can share their thoughts. After all you could work for one of the other big banks and just trying to give HSBC some bad press :)

    HSBC Account

I am having some problems with my hsbc bank. Is it just me or someone else has also found them a bit rude.
