How to pay of credit cards?

I have two cedit cards, one of which is quite large. I have no problem paying these cards each month but the interest is killing me and it will take many years to pay off. What I would like to do is get a loan (pay off over 5 years) or a credit card (to balance transfer to). I have never missed a payment on anything, have no CCJ's or adverse credit, and have had and paid off loans in the past. My credit rating is rated as fair, the only thing stopping it from being excellent the amount of money I have on the two cards.

What is the best way to get these transferred to a loan or another credit card? I have applied for a loan and credit card before, but was declined, probably because of the amount on my exisiting cards. I have no problem paying out each month, but just want to stop paying the huge interest. Any ideas? Should I go into a bank and chat rather than use the black and white procedure of online applications?

Take a look af the loans page on this site? http://www.moneysupermarket.com/loans/

Also have a look at the latest moneysavingexpert page on credit cards and loans. If you have been refused by any of the providers of the best deals, talk to your bank about what they can offer.

Think as a lender sees you via the credit search. Thanks (or no thanks) to enhanced reporting they see you hardly making any inroads into the loan.

You didn't say, so I have to assume that you are only making minimum payments. You also say (twice) you have no problem paying out each month. In that case start paying more. This will have two effects, it dramatically reduces the term and the total interest you will pay over the term and also demonstrates affordabilty of more credit to lenders months to a year down the line.
